There are six to seven sub groups which meet three times or so a year.
The meetings take place in various locations around the UK
with at least one meeting in London and one in the Midlands or further north for each sub group.
The discussions at the meetings are designed to be both practical and to benefit all users regardless of their
experience with the software so that beginners can contribute as much as old hands.
The meetings generally select a particular topic for discussion or training as well as dealing with users'
queries and difficulties.
The main areas each group currently covers are set out below.
However, the nature of the groups change to reflect developments in the software and in the group's composition.
The object is also to protect organisation's investment in systems they choose to use, even if it is not the latest.
It is an essential part of ILUA's function to look after all its members, not just those at the sharp
end of computerisation.
